Material analysis

This class is to expand the study of new knowledge on the basic of the knowledge learned in Section A. The main activities are in 1a and 2a. Through reading, listening and speaking, review the expressions of names and nationalities, and further study how to ask the basic information of the third person about “Who is she/he?”, “She/He is…” “Where is she/he from?”
In addition, the students will understand that the different expressions of the names between the British and American countries and China, the teacher will use some pictures to carry out the interactive teaching between the teacher and students. Finally, consolidate the class of asking the nationalities and the name of countries by learning to sing an English song.

1. Sing the song,”Where are you from?” Then ask the question,”Where are you from?”

2.Duty report. Ask a student to come to the blackboard to give a duty report on introducing herself . Then ask the other students to listen carefully and answer the questions,”Who is she?”and “Where is she from?” according to the report.

Ask the next question: “ Is she from China?”and guide the students to answer it.

2.Show the second picture of 2a and say,“Is he Stephen Hawking?” and “Where is he from?”(老师解释:Where is he from? = Where’s he from? Guide the students to answer them.

3.Show the last picture of 2a and give students 1 minute to make up a new conversation and practice it .

4.Finish 2b. Complete the name cards and let students make two short passages according to the two name cards for 1 minute. Then choose one student to report his/her passage.

5.Give students some time to read 3 by themselves first and then play the tape. After that, let students pay attention to the capital letters. 6.Do some exercises and explain them.
